    Sounds like an early Israeli FAL. If you go to this site http://www.sarcoinc.com/fnfal.html every part marked (Heavy) is unique (and non-interchangeable) to the heavy barreled model.

    Thanks guys. It's taken quite a while to find these parts. The early Izzy heavy barreled rifles were used in the 50's by Isreal. I don't believe very many were fielded. The handguard is an early belgian that was also used on the U.S. T48-E1 trials rifles.
