45 gap is a 45 caliber round that was designed to fit int he same frames as 9mm and .40. whereas a 45acp is a larger frame and is usualy the same frame as 10mms. So in a glock you could theoreticly just swap barrels and mags but you would most likely run into ejection issues as the breech face, extractor and ejector are all designed to cycle the larger 45 caliber round.
I would personally only opt for the 45gap if i found a screaming deal, otherwise why not stick to a more commonplace caliber
Agreed. Just another caliber you'll have to keep on hand and then there's the whole deal with ammo availability.
