I like this!! The real ones, with real compressed air... they'll make you crap your pants when you're not expecting it!

Also- BigBear, you should have still called the police- if they caught up with him, he would also be charged with leaving the scene of an accident...

and this thread has been more civil than the last...

    Guess what.
Car Insurance, unless you get a specific "recreational vehicle clause" doesn't cover bicycle operational errors.

took his house and everything he owned.
Wow. I would think a bike hitting you would be part of your comprehensive coverage...but does a bicyclist count as an uninsured motorist? Or a falling object? Act of God? For all those who say next time let the bike hit you...no thanks. Even minor fender damage from a bicycle and its operator would cost a lot to repair. Although not a bicycle, a buddy of mine got hit by a motorcyclist that ran a stop sign and the motorcyclist went through the window, ending up in the back seat of his double-cab. I guess that makes it easy to get the guy to the hospital! I'll just continue to stop, call them ass-hats and return home to vent to you guys. It's all about the Benjamins and that is certainly cheaper than automotive body work! Every dollar I don't spend is one dollar closer to a another new gun...

A bicycle hitting you is covered by collision on YOUR auto policy; assuming you have collision. Byte Stryke was saying that the bicyclist's auto insurance didn't cover him, which is true.

If you've seen my car... it wasn't worth the hassle! I don't think I could've caught up though... My car isn't as agile on tight corners and alleyways, lol.

I am a bicyclist as well as a motorist and motorcyclist. I must be to only one in the metro area that actually stops for stop signs/lights. Then again, I have a pretty strong self preservation instinct.
You're not alone. I followed all the rules today while doing a small bit of street riding. I still almost got tagged by some cell phone woman making a left while I was going through my green light.

If you get hit, File a claim... I Double-dog-dare ya.

My Mother got rear-ended by a "undocumented worker" with a "loaner vehicle" that had less that state required Insurance coverage...

She filed a claim for her Medical and Collision damages....
her rates (even at her age) are now through the roof.

We pay less than she does and we have a new driver.

    I gotta say . . .

As you can tell by my first post in this thread I get annoyed with bicyclists just as much as the next guy. However, I'd like to put a different spin on the much hated (apparently) bicyclist.

All in all they're just people doing their thang. Some of them are entitled assholes and feel like they own the road. Others are not and make efforts to abide by the rules. A good analogy would be gun enthusiasts. Some of them are careless and give the rest of us a really bad name. Others are responsible which helps keep us out of the negative spotlight.

It's all about respect. Don't be a deuche and, hopefully, you won't be treated like as such. Put yourself on a pedestal, act like you're the shit, you'll start to smell, and people will let you know.
Do what you've always done and get what you've always gotten.

Ride the hell out of your bikes. Stay the hell out of Hilldale Pines, were all tired of it up here.
