No doubt a thrill to see AND HEAR from that angle, nice! I'm convinced the C-17 is a great aircraft but have heard they are working double time (through the years) with world issues which adds up to limited airframe hours.

In all honesty, pretty good bird now. Did an exercise down a Gulfport once. Since I flew in the exercise I rode home in one that was carrying a bunch of other equipment back to Pope. Friend of mine was the AC/Pilot so I sat jump seat. He put the inboards in reverse at altitude (outboards at idle) to do a pen descent. Pretty wicked descent rate! If still in the game I...screw that, I'd still fly a herk.
