    This is a slightly modified 1930's WACO biplane with a G.E. jet engine (from a Lear Jet) mounted between the landing gear. They had to move the cockpit aft about 3' to balance it.

    Here is a pic from last year in Sacramento. Tanker 10 (3 holer) and a Forest Service King Air, Lead 52, working a fire north west of Chico.

    Lead 52 picked his number as in MAFFS 5 and 2. You might guess he flew for us before he retired and went to the Forest Service.

    You know I like my coffee sweet in the morning

    Tanker 10 has been flying over my house non-stop for the last few months. They regularly refill their retardant at SMX (Santa Maria airport, for you non-pilot types ) I've been meaning to try and get some pictures, but none of them would be as cool as this, so I won't waste my time.
