Some trivia-at one point the AZ Air National Guard was referred to as "Old Gun", take off on Top Gun, due to the experience of the majority of the pilots. Smithsonian's flight magazine even did an article about it (can't remember the name but maybe "Air and Space"?). When we first moved to Tucson my dad used to take me out to an area where we just outside the fence to watch takeoffs and landings sitting in our Pontiac Catalina convertible. Great memories for sure. The first air show I ever went to was that first year, pretty cool for a 12 yr old. Got to go through a B17, need to see if I can find those photos.

Friend of mine sent me these from earlier today. Coolest plane on the planet irrespective of the passengers and the support aircraft is pretty cool too.

I'm too dumb and slow to take a picture, but we watched a AN-124 destined to Belgium leaving DIA this afternoon. It caught our attention because of the growl of the engines rather than the whine if the smaller stuff. Beast of an airplane.

Saw the 225 land several years back. This planes are distinctive and very recognizable

That big zoom lens is hard to hold steady and focus on moving objects without a support.

Have a good time. Vegas has become our favorite "NASCAR" venue.

    Early Radio-Plane Target Drone pictures.

I'm guessing these were taken in the late 50's or early 60's. The Radio-Plane Target drones were used from WW2 and into the 1960's. Many versions had parachutes installed, to salvage the drone for re-use if it wasn't shot down at the end of its flight.

One of the pictures shows two Airmen standing by a wrecked drone, notice the 2 aircraft tail turrets behind them. Looks like Boeing B-47 radar controlled twin 20MM guns! Click image for larger version.

Very rarely go to theaters anymore but probably will for this one.
