I barely survived childhood as it is.
Yep, you can imagine these guy's going off a jump/ramp, getting towed or just heading into a good breeze.
Until someone (probably quite a few) got hurt and they went the way of dangerous fireworks, lawn darts and other fun things.

No doubt a thrill to see AND HEAR from that angle, nice! I'm convinced the C-17 is a great aircraft but have heard they are working double time (through the years) with world issues which adds up to limited airframe hours.
Questions to USAF guys out there, Is it as good as they say? What is the maintenance hr per flight hr?
Pretty sure that picture was taken at Mellon LZ just outside the Tonopah Test Range in Nevada. Really cool place.
