Geez, they get any more blades on those props and they'll be solid disks!

Which variant of the Herc is that?

The seven-bladed props make it a J or later, if memory serves.

It is a 1994 H3 model. They used to have four silver aluminum blades and the J Models (they came out in 1996) have 6 blades. The very first A models and a few Bs had 3 bladed props. I have never seen a 3 blade prop in person.

These NP-2000 props have 8 blades and are friggin awesome. Between the new props and new Rolls Royce engine upgrades, it is a total sportscar.

You wont see any more of the older 4 blade hurks anymore. The props got old and started having issues like blades coming off inflight. That is not good.

My grandson's in the Navy, stationed at Tinker AFB in OKC, in an E6-B Mercury squadron, tired old Boeing 707's. He says he's hearing rumors of those being replaced with C-130's, hopefully they'd be the latest and greatest versions.

I imagine they have regular parts runs to Davis-Monthan to keep a 707 in the air.
