I think this is your biggest problem. Not saying that colorado gun market is a bad place, but when you're doing deals on a forum like CO-AR15 you kinda build up a reputation. You see people on here often, and if you do somebody wrong and they out you it's kinda tough to come back on here and chat with folks. It would be like screwing over a guy at the local dive bar that you're both regulars at. Once you cross that line you can't really stick around anymore because everybody knows you're a dick. You do it on a big sales only board and it doesn't matter as much. It's a little more cut throat over there.

Someone had an item up for sale on this site for at least two weeks, I emailed questions, they replied, I emailed to coordinate the FTF and ooops, suddenly they aren't selling the item anymore. WTF??

I'm Sorry, but I think the seller should always have the right to Cancel/retract the item(s) from Sale.
and this would be wholly different from selling it to someone else.

But yeah, it would be a dick move to outright "oh he offered me more so I sold it to him instead"
