How much training does it take to unlock a cell and look the other way?

According to what I've been reading the Mexican army is one of the biggest cartels. Mexico is pretty high on the ranking of states in danger of failing - ending up like Somalia. Just what we need on our border. Why couldn't we be surrounded by Canadians?

That's it, acknowledge receipt. Seems like the biggest problem with Mexico is the Mexicans. It's hard for the good guys down there to get anything done with so many on the take.

Providing the mexican govt with training and equipment will do wonders for all that guilt we were told to feel for our crushing drug appetite which of course fueled all the violence in the first place. It's a good first step. I for one thank Hillary for some relief of my guilt. Now if we could work on that massive tide of weapons flowing from our gunshows right into the hands of the cartels.

My agency has been providing some training for the Mexican Federal police the last two years. We usually host 24 of their officers every year.

Those guys work with very little. They told us they would come across the border into Texas (primarily) and buy ammunition and then keister the ammo to get it back across the border so they had some to use, practice with, etc.

We got them some expired vests from another agency who had a stockpile of them and gave them to the officers, who were so excited, they wore the vests the rest of the day.

I guess I can't imagine working in their daily conditions with the equipment they don't have.
