That rumor has been around for years, I am former Army, but I still certainly see the validity of the Marines, even though they aren't swinging from ropes onto other ships anymore, well maybe they are, I have no idea.
Still I hope it is just Rumor, that is a deep part of our American heritage.

Think back to fall of the Soviet Union....Mikhail Gorbachev....a rather anonymous politician, with limited experience, if elected to the highest office in the land, riding on a wave of "hope and change", and within 10 years, the 2nd largest superpower in the world disintegrates.
Sound at all familiar?
I am convinced that Gorbachev was a CIA plant, positioned over many years to accomplish the destruction of the Soviet Union.
I am equally convinced that Mr. Obama (who's career has a number of scary parallels) is also acting on behalf of a foreign power.
There you have it, your conspiracy theory for the day.

Wouldn't happen here. They had a command economy that was in shambles. We are nowhere close to as bad as they had it. The government also had no money. They were colonizing the world but instead of the traditional "colonies send the motherland resources and money" the USSR was subsidizing a bunch of crappy countries with little to no natural resources. Their military was only about 1/4 as strong as they made it seem. Obama isn't acting on behalf of a foreign power. That would never happen here. Our intelligence is too good to let that happen. Maybe at lower level positions but not for POTUS. Plus, we have checks and balances, something the USSR did not have. They had rigged "elections" and "figure heads". The powers that were in the Soviet Union could do whatever they wanted with no repercussions. Obama isn't a figure head for some dark organization, he will get voted out in two years. Not the same, not even close.
ETA: Gorbachev was not a CIA plant, it would have fallen much quicker than it did if he was. And even if he was, he wasn't making the decisions over there. People behind the scenes were pulling the strings. Just like in Iran today.
honestly during the 2 enlistments I did, this was brought up. under both Bush 1 and Clinton. They fear us, so they want to destroy us. They cant give us our own department, because we would take over the world. you know the drill.
of course this is about money. if they just disbanded the judicial, legislative and obama branch, there would be plenty of money for the Corps.

I think it would be a good thing for Obama to disband the Corps.
