A long time ago me and my young wife were moving to Las Vegas for a better job. We needed cash so we left her Camaro (she had another car) with her best friends dad on the agreement that in 2 weeks he would have the money to pay us. That was to be our depo to get into an apt. That was 12 years ago and no money, no car. We are now back here and see the guy everynow and then, but we havent talked to him, I have to keep a safe minimum distance from him when we are around them because he almost made us homeless.

We had called the cops, and they said since we gave it to him with the intent to sell it to him he did not steal it and claims court was our only course of action. I would rather have put a bullet in his head, but its better to wait until everyone forgets the past

+ some sugar in the tank of the car if they still have it. I'm never one to condone vandalism but in this instance (since it's really not even theirs)... I'll allow it.

sugar isn't nearly as effective as a quart or two of 2-stroke oil

Wait, wait. Did you give him the title, bill of sale, and all that jazz up front too without anything signed stating intentions?! If not, how did he do his insurance, registration, etc? Can't you legally, "go get" the car back via tow truck or something? Interesting...

I think if they could have, they would have and there's probably more to the story.

We did not give him the title. My wife knew them her whole life so we didnt really worry for about the first 3 weeks of "hey man I dont have the money this week", then the no return calls etc. She is still friends with his daughter. I am not going into details about her family, but the car got chopped. I know where the engine is, but I dont know where the rest went. My brother was a tow truck driver but he couldnt find the car in time, and with us living in Las Vegas we were limited on what we could do. Like I said payback comes around at funny times. It wasnt that nice of a Camaro (a 75) but we had just built a 355 for it that was worth some cash. The engine is in a red 69 that runs at Bandimiere a lot. That guy lives a block from me now, its in his sons car.
