I am not going into details about her family, but the car got chopped. I know where the engine is, but I dont know where the rest went. My brother was a tow truck driver but he couldnt find the car in time, and with us living in Las Vegas we were limited on what we could do. Like I said payback comes around at funny times. It wasnt that nice of a Camaro (a 75) but we had just built a 355 for it that was worth some cash. The engine is in a red 69 that runs at Bandimiere a lot. That guy lives a block from me now, its in his sons car.
If you had the title in hand you should have prosecuted.

Oh well, coulda woulda shoulda. Doesn't seem like you're too worried about it.

I'd tell you to make him pay somehow, but I recently got ripped off by a "friend" and let it slide so for this I really have no place to talk.

FT. Collins PD and Larimer sheriff's both said no recourse since we gave it to him with the intent to sell. It then becomes a civil problem, not worth wasteing $ in court. Thats the same problem the OP would have with calling LE, they "gave" the property to them with the intent to sell. So its not theft, its just non-payment.

    heh. typical.

You were defrauded and the police will do nothing.

If you showed up at the guy's house to collect, or if there was money in it for them you can bet your ass the cops would be all over it.

That's all I have to say about that.

I didn't communicate very well. Instead of prosecuted I should have said "taken action"

If you want you can tell your wife to tell her friend that this guy Elhuero on the internet thinks her dad is an asshole.

Then file a complaint...let the FBI handle it!
IC3 is a waste of time. The FBI doesn't investigate those claims. It's a partnership between the DOJ and NW3C. It's up to the PD/SO to actually go and check the complaints in their jurisdiction.
