Default bolt on free float handguard ?

has anyone used the troy or midwest bolt on free float 2 piece handguards that bolt on to the original barrel nut after cutting the delta ring? i am thinking of getting one due to ease of installing it over removing FSB and MB to install the one piece but don't know how they hold up over time.

any recommendations for one over the other?

They work OK as long as you-
    1-tighten the bolts evenly
    2-loctite them

As far as longevity I cant say-I have done a few for people and have heard nothing either way.

The funny thing is you have to remove the delta ring. The best way to remove the delta ring is by pulling the barrel and popping the snap ring. By that point in time you may as well go with a true one piece.

If you are going to cut it off with a cutoff wheel or similar bag the reciever to keep the debris out of the action.

I still prefer a one piece. They are typically cheaper than a two piece and it is just the better of the two.

if you buy one piece free float from Bowers - I'm pretty sure they will install it for free.
