Default Proposed shooting range near DIA raises concerns

    http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_16191396

Officials from DIA and the Federal Aviation Administration are concerned that a planned $7.5 million public shooting range in Adams County could endanger low-flying planes with errant bullets.

In an earlier communication with county officials, Hofer said FAA's airports office in Denver was concerned that the shooting range "will adversely affect airport capacity" at DIA and "limit the operations of future runways."

They should come out to the Family Shooting Center at Cherry Creek. We're directly under the flight path for landing aircraft at Centennial. There's never been an errant shot hit an aircraft to my knowledge.

That's why these arguments always blow up. The gun owners show up with reasoned arguments and data. The anti's come in with emotion - Icky Poo Guns!. How the heck can you communicate.

Remember all those bloodbaths after states approved CCW? Neither do I.

Fighter jets fly over Aurora Gun club everyday...low flying too. Great fun to watch them bank above the range getting ready to land.

Pretty sure they haven't been shot at yet but maybe that's because they can shoot back.
