    Default Marlin Camp rifle

I posted in a dif spot, on the forum about Kel=Tec Carbines. Well, I go into my dealer and he has a used Marlin Camp Carbine, in 9mm, that takes S&W mags (of which I happen to have a ton of) for $350. Well, my friend says that he's heard bad stuff about em.

Anybody got any personally experience w/em? How do they compare w/the Kel=Tec? I do remember that I didn't like the way that the KT fit my face (the steel was cold).

My cousin filled a doe tag with one in Northern California when his 308 broke. Said it dropped but needed a finishing shot. Nobody cry and say I'm suggesting a 9mm for hunting please we all know better. I think I read that they are a pain in the ass to strip down to clean. That's all I know about them

Never owned or shot one, but I've heard lots of good about them, and they're hard to find and collectable nowadays. I've also heard the first thing you do with one is replace the recoil buffer with a new one, supposedly not hard to find them from Midway, Brownell's, etc. I'd like to have one, and that price doesn't sound bad. I'd really go for the Camp .45 though.

Had one, sold it, wish I hadn't, about 10 years ago.

No idea the round count when I got it, but I put about 1K through it and the new owner seemed to love it.

$350 is a good price for a Camp Carbine and there is a cult following of these guns so if you find you don't like it you can probably get your money back out of it pretty easily.

I really want a .45 one with an integrated suppressor.

Yeah, these are easy to sell if you decide you don't like it. And if you have a ton of mags for it, you have it made.

I nearly bought a new Camp .45 right at the end of production, although at the time I didn't know it was the end. Wish I had. I'm still considering buying a mech-tech conversion for a 1911 to have almost the same thing.
