I did not know he was not a local and a dirty troll, but hey RMGO takes out of state donations, he can still give some money to RMGO.

    Well... there is this: http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_16106963
However, the NRAILA candidate endorsement site does not list these endorsements...

    This quote has me flummoxed...
"The NRA, Boxer noted, has a "strict incumbent endorsement policy."

Wonder what is up with that...

I think they mean the NRA is essentially a one-issue proponent. They look at the candidates on the one issue (gun rights) and if both candidates appear to support their side on the issue, the tie goes to the incumbent. It shows a couple of things:

    1) The NRA's endorsements are based on the issue, not party. (Important so Dems and others can't call the NRA a tool of the Republican Party and avoiding action by FEC or IRS.)
    2) Democrats can actually win NRA endorsement if they come over to the side of light and goodness (Second Amendment freedom)
    3) Republicans cannot assume NRA endorsement.

I would imagine the incumbent endorsement policy is because the incumbent is a known quantity through legislative record while you can only judge other candidates by what they said. In addition, working with incumbents may be more effective than freshmen (not sure about this but I can see it being a discriminator).

Yah, Aloha Shooter pretty much got it exactly right. The NRA published their endorsement policy in last month's American Rifleman (not the current issue but the one before) and they basically said two things make their determination: 1) they are strictly a second amendment group and issue endorsements based on that one issue only. Thus their endorsed candidate may not be the most conservative or consistent in the race, but the candidate will be an outstanding 2nd amendment supporter: 2) ties go always to incumbents because incumbents have long voting records on which to gauge what they really believe by their actions, whereas challengers often only have what they claim to believe to offer. Incumbents who are endorsed have "walked the walk". So claiming that the NRA has a "strict incumbent endorsement policy" is a completely false statement. But where the challenger and incumbent are both strong 2nd A supporters, the NRA will evidently endorse the incumbent.
