Colorado Springs Police Say Woman Shot While Entering Apartment Of Ex
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Colorado Springs Police say a woman who was shot and killed Saturday morning fired shots into the lock of the door at her ex boyfriend.
It happened at 2555 Paragon Drive in Colorado Springs.
Colorado Springs Police investigators have identified the victim as 46-year old Cristen Ann Cox of Colorado Springs. Police say the investigation revealed Cox fired a handgun into the lock of the door of her former boyfriend's apartment. According to police she then entered the apartment with the gun in her hand and the resident shot her one time. Police say Cox and the man had been involved in a previous relationship.
The man who shot Cox and an adult woman were both in the apartment. Neither has been identified by police.
Neither has been arrested and information regarding the investigation will be turned over to the district attorney's office, which will determine if any charges will be filed.
Police say an autopsy revealed Cox died of a single gunshot wound to the torso. Her death was ruled a homicide, however police point out that a homicide is not necessarily a crime.
