How long ago did you upgrade to 7? Downloaded all of the program updates after installing 7?

Any noises when it freezes, i.e. a noise from the hard drive (to where it would be the hardware failing and not just the computer programs freezing)?

When you turn it back on, does the notification flag popup in the bottom right where you clock, etc, is? sometimes that will tell you what the problem is and why it crashed.

That sounds like a hardware issue. My guess. Possible overheating?
I had a laptop that did something like that. I fixed it by setting the performance lower, to the lower power setting. The faster you run the processors the hotter they get. I also blow out the cat hair and dust that had built up in the fan ports.

I've had computers do this from over heating as well. But that doesn't sound like it is your issue since when it over heats, it should lock up faster after you reboot.

Did you do an "upgrade" install over your old OS or did you do a complete "wipe drive and install from scratch" install?

Upgrade installs suck (regardless of OS ... I'd say the same thing if you were on a Mac, but its especially bad if you "upgrade" from Vista). If you did it that way, back up your data, put the install disk in the DVD drive and boot to it, then repartition/format the drive and install from scratch.

Damn, don't you people have jobs or something?

Not the hair/debris thing (just cleaned it out because that was a problem previous)

Off the top of my head it's specs run something like this -

    ~3 years old
    AMD Turion X2 (1.9ghz) processor
    Radeon X1250 graphics chip
    4gigs DDR2 ram
    Running 7 64 bit
