    Default CT's on my J

I’ve wanted to do this upgrade for quite some time, laser grips on my J-frame. A nice package; 442 no-lock, CT's, a “true Lou” APX and stoked with Gold Dots.

    Model: LG-405

Out-of-the-box initial impression: Thin, moderately comfortable, fits my existing holster well, “bright” dot, back-strap fit is “goofy” but functional fit overall is good. Range report to follow at a later date.

Yeah...a workin' snub, that's a 442 for me currently. I have "shiny" snubs too (in .357) but...

I like those 105's my man, I was "sucked-in to the pocket hype" (<--comfortable eh? We'll see! )and frankly, its what I found on-the-shelf, these and 305's which is not what I was looking for. But...I am going to get that size / length to replace the Hogue's on the Model 60 my lady has adopted.

I've CT on my 340pd and love the ability to actually hit something beyond a dozen yards (short sight radius + old eyes is a bad combination)

crimson trace lg-105 on the 642 and crimson trace grips for the Ruger LCP. I shot them this evening, a few minutes ago. The smith hit exactly where i thought. The impact was about 2 inches left of the laser at 7 yards. I dont think you want them to intersect, as they would only intersect at one distance. this way they allways run parallel to your impact. The Lcp was hitting about 3 inches left and 3 inches high. I adjusted it and now it is about 1 inch low and centered. This should work for any distance. ( i hope) what do i know.

for the fun factor or cool factor fine. For a working gun does anyone think they would actually look for that dot or just point and shoot at self defense ranges especially in the dark.

I say you might still be looking for the dot while they are pulling the trigger.

to answer CapLock. I am not a tech guy. i dont usually get into lasers and rails and crap. but, i bought the laser for my wifes gun. i tried it and if you are shooting from a non traditional stance(under car, behind door, from front seat etc) i think the laser will put rounds on target faster. you may still squeeze off the first round while locating the dot, but subsequent rounds i think will be easier.

just so everyone knows. since there has been a couple good deals in the forum and some overprice items here.

the J frames are around $430 locally. and the crimson trace grips are $150 online. plus smith is giving $50 rebate. So the gun is $380 new, or $530 with crimson trace. so dont over pay for a used gun.

Russdxt was selling his below cost. it was a deal.
