Support for pro-gun lobby groups

i know some of you on here dont like the NRA, but there is no doubt that if it werent for the NRA we would not be in the same place we are today. while i may not agree with everything that the NRA does, i think they are a very valuable asset to all gun owners. i personally am a endowment member, life member for about 10 years or more. i also contribute to campaigns for candidates of my choice. my question is to everyone here, especially those making negative comments about the NRA, is do you contribute to some other group? or to candidates election campaigns?
i think everyone who owns a gun, shoots, or hunts should put at least some small amount of effort, be it money or time, to some person or group who helps fight for out rights. i am afraid that alot of people here and in the gun owning population in general do NOT do a damn thing to help fight the attacks against our rights. support some group, regardless of who it is, there are plenty of people on the other side donating their money to take our rights away.
i am curious to what groups you NRA bashers are donating to. or are you just bashing the NRA and not doing anything to help fight liberals?

I called them and told them to just save the postage - send me something every quarter... It worked.

As a Patron member of the NRA - I am trying to change the organization from within... try to get it to at least think about the ramifications of being so single issue you miss the big picture...
I also donate to RMGO, GOA and JPFO... locally to PPFC and CSSA.

I think the NRA sort of keeps track since I get less junk than I used to. I paid my life membership off long ago and can't afford to be an endowment member. I also give a little money to the 2nd Amendment Foundation.

At previous jobs I used to have an open offer that I would take anybody shooting who wanted to try it. I'd provide the guns & ammo. BLGC used to be totally open about guests. They've tightened up a bit but are still good. I've probably done this 30 times over the years. Anywhere from one person to a group. I'd mainly do .22 to cut down on noise & recoil and let them shoot heavier if they wanted. Some of them became gun owners, even NRA & gun club members. I'm lower profile since my management isn't Americans and they have weird ideas about guns. Even the Swiss who have full auto rifles at home tend to be kind of anti.

The libtard media types like to portray the NRA as extremist but most people are smarter than that.

In my views I sympathize with the GOA but I'd rather have part of the pie than none.

I use to be a member of the NRA. . .I recently moved here from Massachusetts. When the NRA abandoned MA, I left the NRA. I contribute (a decent % of my income) to other Pro 2nd causes.

G.O.A.L- (gun owners action league) a Mass based organization
JPFO (although I'm not Jewish)

and to Politicians that I support.

In addition to the list above, I also contribute to The Children's Hospital of Boston (they saved my nephews life 17 years ago) and The American Cancer Society and the Catholic Church

I am a member of the nra. They do a pretty good job overall imo. There are a few things they have done and a few contributions they have made that I did not agree with. Most if it ia strictly political or trying to keep enemies close.
I have been a member of rmgo for several years and I think that is the best organization out there.
I also do plenty of my own contributions to candidates. This year more than ever. I want Reif and pelosi gone. And I want bennett gone. I am praying hickfuckstick loses but not sure that will happen

How about Salazar's votes for Pelosi as speaker? Isn't she anti? Yep, so that should count too. Endorsing Harry Reid? Really?


Something that really pissed me off was watching them come down to Arizona and gut the constitutional carry bill. The bill had enough support to pass both houses and be signed by the governor. But what does the NRA do? Guts the bill and makes it weak. Same with the "guns in bars" law. That was frusterating, being part of a good organization that spent tons of money and man hours to get a great law passed only to have the NRA step in and fuck it up and then take all the credit for the laws.

Will one of the NRA supporters please explain how/why they(NRA) would support Betsy Markey(whose web site had no stance on gun control/RKBA) over Cory Gardner?

The NRA appears more interested in playing politics than protecting gun rights. Yet they claim to be one issue outfit.

Back to topic - I support RMGOA, GOA, SAF and JFPO financially and when I can by volunteering for events.
