Default Rcv'd letter from IRS today

So, I opened a letter today from the IRS. Its states that the $8000 tax credit that I received from buying a new home in 2008 was to be paid back in full over the next 15 years. (It is actually an interest free loan from our govm't mumbo jumbo) WTF??!?!? The IRS would tack on an additional $500 a year to my taxes. Did anyone else get something like this? or did i piss someone off....

Yes, only the 2009 and 2010 is a tax credit. 2008 one is a tax advance. Both your realtor and mortgage broker better had not used this to get you into the purchase...

You are among dozens that I have heard from were misled about "the credit."

Yeah it's true, and frankly I am more pissed off about the fact that I got the 2008 tax advance and others got the nice tax credit it 09 and 10

I heard a new home buyer the other day that stated she was going to have her bathroom done when she got her $8000.00 check.

I had to break the news to her that she wasn't getting a check. I didn't ask who her agent was, but they need to do their homework.

If she just bought her house in 2010, it is a tax credit! Only the ones back in the 2008 are tax advances.

My accountant, out of all people, got this for me. Anyone know any good accountants that aren't super expensive but have experience with small (very small) business's? I think I am in the market.. FML would have never taken the $8k, didn't even need it at the time. ugghhh

Well, those son's-a-bitches are sure taking their time paying me from 2009.... Funny how that works. When they owe, you can wait (Or in my case, Oops, we missed that one). When we owe, you better have that shit in the mail by the deadline.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

HAHA, rgr that. I had to pay $400 bucks last year for a '07 mistake... They said I had like 30 days to pay "or else"... Then, my refund from '08 was like two months late apparently "lost in the mail" when I didn't move from '07-'09. HAHA.

Oh yeah, and if you owe them anything they tack on late fees, penalties, interest, and anything else they can come up with.

When they owe YOU, you're lucky to get the bare amount.
