    Default wth is Maes doing?

Clearly he can see that he's not gonna get elected, but he seems determined to stay in until the end- despite the "if a candidate is under 20% he should drop out" talk he spouted. Is he trying to make sure Hick gets the job if he can't have it? Do you think the republican party is encouraging him to stay so they don't look (more) like clowns by not having a candidate? This is driving me crazy...

    +1

He is still raising money to pay for his 'campaign HQ' and 'motorcade.'

I would not be the least surprised to find a contributor to Maes through a discreet foundation.
    A discreet Democratically backed foundation.
As long as he stays in it takes votes from the Tanc.
Although that may not be much of a factor anymore given the latest poll numbers.

Wonder if the Hick is getting nervous?

As Tom said on TV last night, a vote for anyone other than him at this point is a vote for Hickenlooper. Maes is showing his true colors now, "If I can't have it, nobody can! NYAHNYAHNYAH!"

Maes is punk, I hope life becomes very uncomfortable for him and he has to move out of state.

Here is more information, Ross has been on a few of the talk shows around town.

He's staying in, probably at the insistence of the Republican Party, hoping that he'll get at least 10% of the vote. If he drops out or, (as appears likely) fails to get at least 10% of the vote, the Republican Party gets relegated to "minority party" status.

If Maes grows up and drops out and allows us to not get assigned Hickenlooper and Tancredo wins, can't Tanc just switch parties to Republican so they get their major party status back?

I agree with Circuits's assessment. But if they tank the state and hand the governor's race to the Democrats in a bizarro-world idea of "winning" ballot position in the future, I'd have a hard time supporting them ever.

Don't we justly criticize the Democrats for putting Party over Country? The Republican behavior here is uncomfortably close to that line, perhaps over it.

If the Republicans were such a shitty party that they become a minority, then fuck them. Hear that Republican party?!
