    Default Verizon question

If I have a blackberry now and buy a droid do I have to get a new data plan? I ask because other person in company would still have a blackberry.

It is a different data plan than the blackberry, but each phone has a seperate plan to start with so it makes no difference they are exactly the same price. You can switch mid billing cycle and it does not change your bill.

I believe Verizon just has 1 smart phone/data plan. And it's like $30 a month per phone plus the calling plan.

They Droid data plan has a different name, but it's the same thing as the data plan for the Blackberry and it costs the same. You can change it at anytime and it will not affect your partner. Hope this helps....big tech nerd here.
