Cousin uses something similar, maybe his Butler Creek.

I've never liked the see-thru scope covers as I always get snow or dust or something on them that prevents me from using them as intended.

I used to use flip ups on my old scope and liked those well enough, although I had to control the flipping because the sound was just loud enough to scare away game if flipped uncontrolled.

I now use the rubber/silicon covers that came with my Nikon. I'll typically leave them on until I get settled into my morning roost where I take them off and leave them off all day, or until I re-case my rifle on the ATV. during the day, when I stop the ATV to head into the woods I'll take the covers off again before stepping off of the road (jsut in case).

Of course, using covers that I have to completely take off, I put them into a zippered pocket and stay out of that pocket unless I'm specifically going for the covers - so I don't lose them.

I've had a couple like these, and a set or two of the Butler Creek "Blizzard Covers", but I don't care for them. I prefer the standard Butler Creek flip-ups; just personal preference.
