I'm a huge fan of the Cav Arms polymer lower. I have only handled a Plum Crazy lower once and did not shoot it. My fear is that it will wear out over time. Comparing the plastics wall thickness of the Cav Arms lower, a Glock pistol and a Plum Crazy lower it looks like the PC is way thinner. I was of the opinion that they made a mold of a metal AR lower and then started molding plastic ones. I could be completely wrong but I'm going to stick with my Cav Arms lower for my lightweight carbine.

It is thicker than forged lowers. And it is not a mold...it is a pretty different shape.

so far I'm impressed with mine. I've only shot a couple boxes through but i didn't have any issues at all.

There is a guy on another forum I am on running a .50bmg upper on one. Not too much info yet though. I know he had to replace the trigger goup and add heavier springs. No kaboom though.

I bought another one I'm going to make into a pistol. Again from Straight Shooters, based in Castle Rock at the Tanner show. Great guys.

I've tested a few of them. The biggest problem I have found is when you pull the rear detach pin, it sometimes pulls all the way out. This is a problem but it can be fixed by replacing the plastic pins with a metal one.

I haven't had a problem on either of mine. That has happened on all the ones you tested?

My only issue with them so far is PMags don't drop free. But about 10 minutes with a file by Rob at Bower's fixed that. Kind of nice that they're polymer because fixing that in an aluminum lower is harder.

No it hasn't. I've tested 5 of them and it happened twice. The first time I figured it wasn't lined up correctly but it happened again today with one I know was lined up right. Like I said, it's not a big deal. I would want metal pins anyway. As small as they are, they won't add any weight.
