    Default builders help

ok so im building a privacy fence in a back yard in denver, on line of one side of the yard has a 3-4ft drop so if i put a 6' fence from the house it will look like a 4ft fence so no privacy what so ever from the other yard to our yard. ok so my idea was 10' post with 2-3ft of lattis on top of the 6ft fence. is there a law or something about going higher then 6ft on a privacy fence in a back yard.
just thought i would ask befor the city makes me cut it down after building it

that depends on the city you are in. the city of denver has a 4 foot height requirement, or at least did at one time. they required a variance and a hearing to go 6 foot.

we were replacing an existing 8 foot fence near bayaud, the homeowner decided he wasn't going to ask permission from his neighbors to be able to replace his existing fence. we built it any way. uh i mean he built it. was that out loud

this. check local laws before anything. I am not too up on laws about fences, but I think Denver and maybe Lakewood(not sure) have an 8ft rule. But again, double check local laws.

basically, you need a building permit, and height depends on where on your property it is. Start on page 6.
