    Default Best BUIS?

Just looking for opinions. Which BUIS are the "best" and why? All opinions welcomed and encouraged. Happy Holidays!

+1 If its a backup, sh*t has already hit the fan and made the primary optics inoperable. Avoid plasitc. This is one area where you don't want to settle for cheap stuff.

i have an ARMS low profile i had a matech loved it, but it wouldn't fit with my voltar rail system so i sold it and bought the ARMS from the dealer who ordered my upper ironically the sight came with the upper by accident, funny how i end up with it in the end. i would have bought a troy but i was in to much in a rush to get my back up sights back on the gun.

Had this Wilson on there but I didn't like it, sold it to get a nice new Troy, money well spent.

+1 I love my Troy! I had a magpul on mine and just never felt right about it being a back up sight

ARMS SUCKS.. if for no other reason than the owner Dick Swan is a complete and utter DOUCHE BAG... his mounts fail all of the time and sadly they fail on guys who depend on them for their lives.. e.g. the military. There is more than enough evidence out there to prove that point.

So depending on what you're wanting out of your BUIS that will indicate what you'll want to get. If you want fold down, well Troy is the bees knees. Bullet proof sights. The downside, well the rear is more of an A-1 style for adjustment. The Knights Armament peep sight is pretty damn good too. I'm not sure why there are some here who hate the MagPul sights so badly (other than the sampling of ONE with serious issues) they have proven themselves in and on many a AR. If you want a fixed rear sight to co-witness (absolute, no so well on the lower 1/3rd) then the LMT, LaRue or similar are pretty damn good too.

Fold down sights really depend on your preference. Me, I use Troy, but I've not paid retail prices for any of the 5 that I have, so just take your time and shop AR-15.com and you should be able to snag a rear BUIS for around $100.

I really like chopped carry-handle style sights for red dot setups. There's a lot of options now, too, from the traditional DIY, to LMT, and now S&W makes one.

For your DMS-1, though... can't help ya
