the primary "trick" in diagnosing issues like this is to remove variables.

put it back to "Control": Old Router Old Location. Test.
try a Single modification (ie: 1 variable) put NEW Router in OLD location and Test.
if it fails you know its the router.
if not, then try OLD Router in NEW Location.
if it passes then place New router in New location, which you already know doesn't work.
