    Default Want to build...

I am wanting to build my first two AR's, one of which needs to be a lefty.

So does anyone have any info on the best lefty rifle kits? then I guess the next question would be which brand of kits are the best overall?

Thanks for your help as I am new to the AR world...

I'm not sure about lefty kits ? My last build was a varmint rifle-lefty. The only parts that are lefty is the upper & bcg. I ordered my lefty upper from Stag. Everything else is standard AR from maker of your choice.Building your own educates you on the functions and assembly plus you can customize the build from start the way you want it. Good luck-heres a pic of my varmint:

As far as I know Stag Arms is the only major manufacturer that offers a southpaw upper. There may be a couple of others out there but I am not sure who.
Stick with complete part sets for your first rifles. Save the hotrod parts for your next rifle after you decide what you really NEED from an AR.
Bravo Company and DelTon offer complete part sets minus lower receiver that won't break the bank but are good quality.
Model One sales and Cheaper Than Dirt are parts to steer clear of IMHO.
Stay away from "gun show specials" and parts from unknown sources.
As far as lowers go most any of the major manufacturers offer good pieces.

I am speaking from the point of what I see as a Gunsmith and what I work on. Most problems associated with "roll your own rifles" are the cause of the party who assembled it.

Stick with quality components that are matched and you should not have an issue.
PM me with any questions on building if need be.

    Thanks guys for the advice.

Stag Arms? I will look into them. I must say I am surprised that more manufacturers don't produce lefty uppers. It seems to me that they would be fairly popular, don't you think?

BPTactical, once I get my kits I am sure I will be asking questions. Thanks for the offer.
