so my girlfriend was working at the air and space museum when it happened . the only reason they even looked at the guy is the dumb ass parks out front on the mall side of the air and space museum in a handicapped space with no hang tag or hc plates , leaves his truck there for 5 hours and then when they tried to talk to him about it then the guns came up , the whole thing worked itself into a bomb scare , he gets locked up cops feel like heroes , everybody else has there day ruined ( if you have ever been in washingtion when that goes on , ugg what a pain ) .
i do and dont feel bad for the guy . by now everyone should know , 1 dont bring a bunch of guns to the Smithsonian . 2 if you are gonna bring a gun to another city or out of state keep it under wraps and 3 if your not hc dont use the spaces

If the "guns and ammunition" were inside the truck or camper, and properly concealed/covered up/stowed/whatever, how could an officer see them? Don't leave your stuff out where nosy bastards can peek in the windows and see it, then cause you grief.

Its to bad the media dose not use terms like that , just imagine Dan Rather saying " check out this dumbass , he/she blah blah " there might less dumbass moves , like parking a truck with guns in a hc spot and then wondering why you got in trouble. But on the other note register ammo ??? Why in the world you do that , and how , sounds like a dumbass reporter ( at least i hope ) . But if they ( the government ) do try something like that, I would hope that all the law abiding gun owners put a stop to it and quick

Don't be pissed off at the cops for enforcing laws be pissed at the morons making them. There has to be more to this story for sure.

It is YOUR responsibility to make sure you know the laws in each state as you pass through them. I don't agree with the laws necessarily but I am still going to follow them to the best of my ability.

I lived in DC for years, before the ban was overturned. It is a stupid, dangerous place. Citizens SHOULD be allowed to carry. The law now is that you have to register your firearms and you have to keep them in your home. DC and Maryland are NOT like Colorado where they allow the vehicle to be "somewhat" of an extension of your home.
