Gotta agree with you there, seems shady. Rules are a little different when you sell across state lines as well.

Doesn't seem worth the trouble with shipping, securing payment, and dealing with a FFL. You can find pretty good deals locally.

Could be one of two things. Just someone trying to get as much exposure for the sale item as possible, trying to get it sold..

The other one, I'd have to put the tinfoil on..

Either way, just go with common sense.. and yes, as long as the FFL is used it is perfectly legal..

You know I almost posted in regards to this a while back but bit my tongue (keyboard).
This is COLORADO AR15.com, not AR15.com.
Note the big key word: COLORADO
I feel that sales should be reserved for in state sales. If you want something that is not found here or want to sell it nationwide go to THAT other site.
Otherwise what is the point of COLORADO AR15?
I really like the fact that this is a local site where the members are supporting fellow COAR members and Industry Partners, we can get to know who we are dealing with and develop a repoir with them and discuss local issues.
I am all for keeping this a local, in state forum, at least when it comes to the sales end of things.

Why would it be any different or shadier for people in other states to be members here and offer things for sale, than for them to be members of more nationwide type sites like The High Road, AR15.com, The Firing Line, Gun and Game, or the CMP forums? Or any other of the myriad gun forums out there. Just because this is a "Colorado" site doesn't mean anything, IMO. Every gun forum is "based" in some state, ya know, not to mention all the sellers on the gun auction sites. The Internet kinda eliminates borders, ya know.

I haven't bought any guns from people in other states on this forum, but I have on other forums, and like people have said it's perfectly legal as long as FFL's are involved. I do like the fact that I can, and have, found guns for sale here that I can buy in local FTF transactions. On more nationwide forums it's a little more difficult to find Colorado sellers, but that's the only difference that I can see.

You can get screwed buying a gun from a guy down the street from you just as easily as you can get screwed by a seller across the country. Every deal has it's own risks and merits.

    JMHO.

And I kind of agree with you, Bert, about this being a Colorado site, as far as comeraderie and local businesses and things like that go. This site is a wonderful resource to find local sellers and business contacts, finding you has been very beneficial to me personally! You've provided me with services that I wasn't able to find anywhere else, and you did so for excellent prices and service! But it's a fact that people ANYWHERE can join and be members of ANY forum on the Internet, none of them can be selective to only certain people in certain places. We have members here from all over the country, just like Colorado4x4.org has members all over the country. I enjoy being able to find guns, accessories, Jeep parts, etc. from sellers wherever I can find them.

I suppose a solution might be having separate "for sale" sections, one for CO sellers, and one for out-of-state sellers, if it really is an issue.

I disagree that sales should be colorado only.

    rondog said it well

and besides... some (like me) have been banned from that "other" site by racist, power tripping shithead mods.

That's all I have to say about that.......

i hear that bptactical . so far i have enjoyed the local factor . i have always had a hard time mailing out for guns , cause well you hold it you want it , a picture is just a 1000 words . yeah sure an ffl will get it done and all that , but it really is kinda creepy to post here from new England ( or anywhere else for that matter ) .
me i say keep it local , friendly and face to face ( when purchasing firearms ) . thanks for the input so far , like i said i was just wondering and hey i dont care if it sounds lame , its nice to have a place to ask questions , buy , sell ,and trade . an honest thank you to Colorado AR-15 shooters forum

ban from the other site ? im sure theres a story behind that
