Default Need a reliable and fair Jeep or general mechanic

OK just snagged a 96 Jeep Cherokee, everything appears to be in order, now it is time to put it to the mechanic. Need to find someone who is fair and reliable near 6th and Sims or 470 and Smoky Hill.

    Anyone know of someone?

    Thanks

You just want them to check it out or does it need work?

Personally, I'd recommend Edgewater Jeep Repair, but they're not close. They're just past the old Lakeside Amusement Park at Sheridan and 44th, then 1 block east on 44th. Good shop, specializes in Jeeps only from Willys to present. Ask for Jimmy Olsen.

Ask for Cliff. He was the best man at my wedding and they will treat you right.

That's actually where the previous owner had the truck serviced. Not too far out of the way, just a pita to arrange rides to and from the office. There isn't anything major wrong with the Jeep, just some stuff I want to head off at the pass while I've got the cash from my budget left over

Thanks for all the leads guys..

Congrats on the new-to-you Jeep. I drive a 98 grand cherokee and she's been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. 148k miles and ticking, on fluid changes, bulbs, and accessory-belt item replacements only.

....i have a '96 Cherokee- took it to edgewater jeep as they are only a few blocks from my house- i really wanted them to be good, even held their hand a little...they couldn't do it. i could not recommend them based on my experience. they may be ok with TJ's/YJ's etc.? maybe a named contact would have helped?

I have had very good service from high country 4x4 off of old hampden, and i think that there are a few guys from there that frequent this board/shooting events (zoot suit-ipsc etc.)?

there may be some others on here that work at shops too? would be nice to have a service directory.
