I have several new FAL magazines I want to sell that I got in a gun deal, How can you tell whether they are metric or inch?

The lug on the front that holds the mag in is different.

Metric mags have a small front lip for a locking lug. The lip is bent out of the sheet metal body.

Inch mags have a wider front lug that's stuck on (brased or welded or something).
