Although not as bad, i just bought a box of winchester 9mm, the 100rd box, and most of the brass has black stains on them. Tried to find a way to contact them but could not find anything on their website.
They shot okay after a good inspection.

I'm quite fond of Remington products, so that is surely disappointing to say the least. Like others have said, i'm sure if you contact them, they will make it right.
On a side note, i'm by no means trying to downplay Remington's lack of QC in this instance, but can you imagine how many times someone opens a box of ammo, and finds something like this? I'm talking about all brands to be specific. The shear number of folks that shoot, compared to the number that actually get on public forums and make the issue public.
I mean if it were cheaper range ammo in a bulk box I wouldn't be so butt-hurt, but daayumm... this is supposed to be the good shit.
Ive gotten the crate of 500 rounds of American Eagle and had one screwed up in it and just dumped it in the dud box. I think everyone has at one time or another.
I would think their quality control would be better.
I won't buy much from remington anymore because i hate their .22 ammo. the golden bullets SUCK!!!!
and I have 5 10/22s and not one of them likes it, so i know it isn't the gun.
a ruger MKII and a walther P22 and a revolver .22 and none of them like it so I know it is the ammo.
all of those guns like federal though, and the winchester.
I am becoming more and more of a hornady fan. Winchester has been hit or miss for me depending on what the ammo is for. hunting rounds have always been good, their bulk reloading .224 bullets I really found the quality to lack compared to hornady and even remington.
I haven't shot remingtons high end pistol rounds, but this doesn't really make me want to!
OK the "finding" of a defective round in my defensive ammunition has me questioning Remington's entire production process as well as their quality control standards.
I don't have time to reload something else if I have Fail to fire or if I have a round buckle up due to a defective casing or some other quality related issue.
I need it to work on time, every time as designed.
Some might say "Man, that's a 1 in 1 million chance."
Maybe I need to go play the Lotto then, seems I am lucky like that.
Just looking for suggestions other than Remington.
Not shooting Elk with it... Unless of course the elk attacks.

I do know you're paying waaay too much for your ammo. ATG usually sells their 25rd boxes GS for $16-$17 per. I've personally ran two boxes of this stuff through the XD you now own.![]()

I admit that I don't really know anything about how they do their ammo, but I have a strong suspicion that just because it is the expensive defense ammo, doesn't mean that they don't just run the machines or do any extra quality control. Just my opinion of course.
