I do a modified Martial Blade Concepts "Janich Carry" now that I'm training with them. Surprised no one else has mentioned them.
Blackhawk Be-Wharned for primary people cutter only, tip up front right pocket carry. Secondary/utility is a CRKT Point Guard that will be soon replaced with a Spyderco Endura when I can find one with G10 scales. Tertiary/utility rear pocket or pack carry is a CRKT Mt. Ranier. Soon to be replaced by a Spyderco Delica, again as soon as I can fond one with G10 scales.
There was a post about "if I'm fighting with a folder I'm already in trouble." I used to think that way too. Until I read "Contemporary Knife Targeting" and started the MBC training. Knives can be very effective against gross motor skill "shankalicious" type attackers.
This is a good thread, interesting to see what people carry.
About assisted opening-
I used to carry a Kershaw Blur on my ambulance everyday, it was really handy to have the blade pop open in gloves, either turn out or nitrile. We used some heavy gloves and it helped to be sure, no finger nails. Also, my other hand was often busy before I would cut a seat belt, and I liked how it was a sure thing one handed open. Keep it sharp enough and I had no use for serrations. In fact I like straight blades more as they don't get hung up on shit and I could take care of it better. That knife had some serious texture as well, also handy wet or in gloves. Finally, it had an open body, i.e. easy to clean out, I was fully opposed to knives that were hard to clean the crud out of, as we weren't talking pocket lint.
As of now I tend to carry a Spiderco Delica. Same reasons as above, but it weighs less and its thinner, and I haven't had to cut a seat belt in some time so I figure I can get a little more comfortable with a lot less speed.
That's great input BigMat, thanks.

I EDC a Spyderco ploice or Military for the last 10 years. Since I moved hear to Colorado a year ago, I had to retire the Spyderco's and now I EDC a Kershaw Blur.
Can't quite tell if it's the same size knife or not, but this seems like an awfully fair price for the Izula, and I like the color choices.

Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.
I disliked the CRKT knives I had.
benchmade is good, but too bloody expensive.
carried a spydeco for years, like em.
daily carry now is a kershaw 1910CKT. awesome.
kershaw is the best IMO.
