    Default Daily Carry Knife thread

There is already a Survival knife thread, but in the spirit of preparedness, and the fact that there was some discussion in another thread, about serrated vs. straight edge preference, I figured I would start a thread about what you prefer in your daily carry knife. Maybe post new pics and reviews of new products as the come available, as well as pics of your current carry knife if you'd like. So what will it be? Straight edge? Serrated? Drop point? Tanto?

These are my two favorite folders, with the top tanto blade being what I carry 99.9% of the time. I really like my Columbia River knives. Sorry for the crappy pics, dang camera phone.

I received some cheap Chinese made knives from CDNN for free as part of an order once. They were crap but I just kept them around for the heck of it. Today, I broke both of them with my bare hands, by just folding them while they were locked open (great way to cut yourself by the way). Now they are in the trash. I know that's not much to contribute. I just wanted to point out that some brands really aren't even worth getting for free.

I usually carry one of a few CRKT Viele Wasps's (8012 serrated and the 8001 non-serrated) or a Pointguard...

Been carrying the Emerson CQC7A for over 9yrs. Tried the Chisel grind Tanto point version of this knife, sold it. For me the Tanto point is a not a practical everyday tip, didn't slice very well.

Carry the Fallkniven F1 when camping/hiking.

    Default Carry Knives

A friend of mine who worked with SF guys in Iraq said they all carried Emersons (first choice) or Benchmade. I tend to defer to the judgement of the people with practical field experience.

I either carry the Izula in my pocket or the HEST on my belt if working. Both have blades under 3 1/2" so they can be carried concealed under CO law.

I've had CRKT in my pocket for 10 years now, ever since I got my original small M16 Tanto, and upgraded to the large M16 Tanto

My daily carry is a Kershaw, 3 1/4 inch straight blade, and I think it is just called the 1670. I love it. I carry it on and off duty. Very sharp!

Gerber slim aluminum with a partial serrated blade. Nice cause it folds so skinny it can easily share a pocket with other stuff and it doesn't have any sharp edges to catch your hand (when folded

I do a modified Martial Blade Concepts "Janich Carry" now that I'm training with them. Surprised no one else has mentioned them.

Blackhawk Be-Wharned for primary people cutter only, tip up front right pocket carry. Secondary/utility is a CRKT Point Guard that will be soon replaced with a Spyderco Endura when I can find one with G10 scales. Tertiary/utility rear pocket or pack carry is a CRKT Mt. Ranier. Soon to be replaced by a Spyderco Delica, again as soon as I can fond one with G10 scales.

There was a post about "if I'm fighting with a folder I'm already in trouble." I used to think that way too. Until I read "Contemporary Knife Targeting" and started the MBC training. Knives can be very effective against gross motor skill "shankalicious" type attackers.

This is a good thread, interesting to see what people carry.
