wasnt sure where to post, but a big +1 for Stuart, and SixGun. Had a blast cutting firewood with them today. great guys, hard workers, fellow gun lovers, and proud Americans. thanks guys for the help cleaning up my property. your welcome back anytime.. thanks to stuarts beer, i screwed up the title.

Thanks so much for cutting the wood for us today. I just got back from splitting and delivering it. I wish I took pictures of all the wood in the truck, because it looked like a lot less when I took pictures of it just piled on the ground at my grandpa's place. About half way through splitting, my axe handle started to crack. I've got to go get a new handle tomorrow and finish up the rest of the big, more wet pieces.

Oh yeah, it was also really great to meet both you and John today. Thanks again for the gloves John, I had my fiance wear them today. She is an excellent wood stacker.

Thanks, I just got back from downtown. Traded the wood for some crack.

Thanks MX'er and son, and thanks Stuart for helping with the loading.

I feel guilty, I've never had any help gettin firewood before. I'll be glad to help get rid of that wood for ya, and help get those branches cleaned up when your ready.


BTW Stuart I saw some pieces of wood on the side of 285 on the way home. Thanks for the laughs all the way home. I sould have followed them to your house.

That's funny, because I also drove past a piece of wood laying on the road, and was thinking how anyone who saw me drive by was going to think it was from me! Fortunately, none fell out. Also, it's so nice to have enough wood that I don't have to say things like, "Well, it's not really cold enough for a fire tonight." If I feel like making a damn fire, I'll make one!

Here is my poor axe handle. It's okay though, because the handle is probably older than I am. I wouldn't be surprised to find out it was twice my age actually. I split about half the wood today with that large crack that you see in the first picture.




I'd take a picture of the box I built, full of firewood, but my porch isn't big enough to get all of it in the picture.

Ace hardware carries a few different handles, or a farm store. I put electrial tape around the axe end for alittle longer use, for when you over throw.

Somebody makes a rubber piece you slip over the handle to keep from splintering it if you overshoot. I'll see if I can find it online...
