If you want to use Linux, gimp may be your best bet if you are looking for Photoshop-type stuff ( http://www.gimp.org/ )

I use Lightroom on Windows, and don't need anything else. I have Photoshop as well, but I've never used it for photos *shrugs*

    Default nice photographs

My wife (the photographer) liked your photos. She especially liked the rifled slugs, although she didn't know or care what they were. It was nice for her and me to have a common interest in something for different reasons.

Have you tried Picasa? It is free and has some nice features.

    +1 for Gimp
and as I understood it, years ago it also ran on Windows.
    Something to think about

he GIMP team doesn't officially provide any Windows binaries. You can, however, install GIMP easily using the Windows installers by Jernej Simončič.

Nope Gimp works just fine in Win7 at least. So between the power house features (and associated learning curve) I use PhotoFiltre for most small resizing, resolution mods and what not. Pretty straight forward app and it's free too.

OP, the pictures are coming together man.. could just be me but some of the focal points didn't really seem to help the rest of the composition. Again, may just be me
