The next AWB will not only cover firearms with all of the goodies that don't effect the operation of the firearm that the first one did (such as a bayonet lug & flash suppressor), but will provide a stricter focus on any firearm with a magazine (certainly for detachable, but perhaps even for attached magazines) .
The scope of the new ban will make us yearnb for the days of the last AWB. Those firearms owners who said of the last AWB "it doesn't apply to any of MY guns" will be singing a different tune.
Word is that the new AWB would affect pump shotguns, as well as every handgun that takes a magazine, semi-auto shotguns and even hunting rifles with detachable mags (like the Browning BAR & A-Bolt, even the Ruger 10/22).
I don't think it will made one iota of a difference since Obummer is using Executive Privledge to make this recess appointment. He didn't get the idea to appoint this guy after Congress went into recess, he's been planning this recess appointment for a while but knew he'd have to do it this way to avoid the normal issues associated with Congressional approval.
