Slightly off topic, there's a superb book about how and why prayer works (it does) called Satan and the Problem of Evil. If you're logically minded and like to see things explained in ways that make perfect sense, this is the book for you. It's long and scholarly, not a light read, but excellent. Having read it, I now pray with confidence that prayer matters and actually affects something.

Count me in on the play date when she's all healed up. Mine is 2 1/2.

I also know what you're going through- Our 6 year old (now 7) daughter needed a heart "procedure" to close her PDA valve... they did this similar to Angioplasty, where them come in through the femoral artery.
There was lots of prayer on her & that event- all turned out better than we could have imagined.
