A valuable lesson was taught that day. Now if more people would follow suit the cartels would be looking for a new place to set up camp. RIP to one of the true heros to this whole trajedy going on. Instead of fleeing more people should be standing up to them, take them out one at a time.

It's a shame he died alone. With morals like that, you would have to suspect someone else could have stood against the assault with him. His country has a lot to learn from this guy.

+1. It doesn't take more than few brave men like this guy to fight back the cartels. I wonder what would have happened to him if he would have survived. That's probably the same reason why the armed force found him 'alone.'

I believe SAfriday means that there are others who stood up with him and disappeared after the shootout. Hint: multiple rifles in many windows and entry ways, and 6 of the cartels were taken down. I wonder if the Cartel withdrawn as said in the article or captured other occupants of the ranch before disappearing, or both sides mutually withdrew after the rancher died.
