    Default Wtf?

    http://www.gazette.com/articles/mili...d-defense.html

I guess I saw the first part in the army times, but its the army times usually don't take their word until I see it.

Did I miss something? Has this country lost it's fucking mind? Fucking hats in congress, molesting "security", fucking cats crawling up trees, anti-gunners nominated to the ATF, and now this?!!!!!!!

Think if we shoot flares in the air someone will help?

Well, that just pisses me off.

Hey! I've got an idea that'll save taxpayers a ton of money and cut spending tremendously...

Why don't we remove the instant retirement for all Congress members (both houses) after they've served even just 1 term.

Why don't we cut their pay back to the 1985 level + the same cost of living increases they've given to service members since that time.

Why don't we start charging members of Congress the same for medical costs that they charge servicemembers & retirees - while giving them the exacty same level of care - no special privledges.

Why don't we provide members of Congress with the same Basic Allowance for Housing that we give to servicemembers in the D.C. area -- but only one, no special allowance for having to maintain 2 households as many military members have to do. But, if the Congress member serves overseas for at least 6 months, we'll give them an extra $200/mo if they have dependents that they have been separated from.

Why don't we make all members of Congress fly coach on commercial flights for the cheapest ticket available (usually with plenty of lay-overs and bumps), just like they make servicemembers fly when on TDY's.

Why don't we provide members of Congress with the exact same PerDiem given to servicemembers when the Congress member has to travel on official business - but they'll have to submit their travel voucher within 3 work days and MUST pay their government travel card IN FULL within 30 days, or face Congressional censure and loss of the travel card.

Those ideas right there will save the U.S. Taypayer MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of dollars each year.

Personally, I think that's a great place to start.

Great plan theGinsue, too bad the lawmakers have their own interests in mind. I wished we could get a grassroots campaign on Congressional Pay Reform going. What a great plan to run on. "Common Sense Government!"

I'd vote for Ginsue.. at least based on that platform

Bottom line, there should be some other organization that handles pay & benefits for those writing the laws... it's a basic conflict of interest that they can write their own...

maybe the judicial branch should determine pay & benefits for Legislative, legislative does for Executive branch, and Executive decides for Judicial?
(trying to make this simple, without creating a new gov't agency)

or even better yet- an automated system that's based on voter approval ratings! they pull a jackass stunt, and they can watch their paycheck diminish- lots of details would have to be worked out, but put it in the hands of the people!
ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ, we are the III%, CIP2, and some other catchphrase meant to aggravate progreSSives who are hell bent on taking rights away...
