as the father of three young girls, there is no reason for anyone to be screening them naked or checking their underwear for any reason I dont care who they work for.
the metal detecting wand or using the naked screener that just shows a generic avatar should be enough.
i read an article this morning about a woman that was pulled aside because she was on her period and the TSA had to inspect her pad. careful that period might be an explosive.

Ethnic profiling seems to be the answer. Young men from overseas especially those with Arab connections seem to fit the profile of airline terrorists. Why they are searching babies & grandmas I don't know.
Truth is they don't know either. Incompetent administration officials are the cause. From the top on down they thrive from a fear factor. I don't really fear the terrorists, I fear the Government officials. I have never been hurt by a terrorist, but I have been severely injured by the "officials".
God protect us from both!
PS Don't forget the Arab women too!( I will guess they are possible terrorists too)
I'll be perfectly honest here, this is one subject i've had a hard time forming an opinion on. If an individual airline were choosing to implement a search procedure, prior to boarding their plane, in order to ensure the safety of their customers and their staff, I don't believe I would have as much of an issue. If you don't like their process, choose a different airline. Just like, if I don't like the fact that Sporting venues can search my person, and strip me of my Second amendment, I don't have to go to their venue (and I don't).
My problem with this whole TSA issue, is it's coming directly from, and being backed by the Same Government that ISN'T allowed to strip us of these God given rights, per our Constitution. So with that said, what is a reasonable search? Is it reasonable to think that a 3 year old is a threat? NO! Is it reasonable to think that my 80 year old grandmother is a threat? NO! Therefore in my opinion, the Government is performing Unreasonable Searches. Now it may be a contract company actually doing the searches, but its at the Order of the Government.
Put the PC Bullshit aside, and hire experts in the field of profiling (not racial, not ethnic, etc. etc.), the same interview style that the Israeli's use, and go from there. A person act's out of place or suspicious, and at that point, it would be Reasonable to request that person be searched.
I'm a little late expressing my opinion here as I just read OneGuy's post and it's dead on with what I was intending to post.
Attending sporting events or entering any other non-government controlled institution where the searches are performed by people/organization hired by the property owner does not violate 4A. It is the property owners/venue managements way of providing "reasonable care" to protect the attendees in the case of litigation; nothing more.
As with OneGuy, I do not agree with the manner in which TSA is implementing security for passengers. But, with that said, folks keep saying that TSA has caught no one who was a true risk to passenger security (i.e. terrorists). What we dont know is how their techniques may have deterred a potential terrorist from even attempting to bring a weapon onto a passenger aircraft. In all likelyhood, these techniques HAVE been a deterrant. We'll never know for sure.
Now, I need to re-iterate that I DO NOT agree with the degree of invasiveness that TSA has felt that they need to violate our rights with the full body scans and molestation-styled "pat-downs". I also disagree with their need to subject young children, disabled, elderly, etc. to the same degree of scrutiny that they give to everyone else. Their unwillingness to perform some degree of profiling is ridiculous.
The bottom line is that the system is what it is and I, for one, will avoid flying whenever possible to let my money speak loud and clear about how I feel on the subject.

Ginsue's Feedback
Ginsue, the TSA does do some kind of profiling already. From a female TSA'er from BWI Airport outside of Baltimore: "If you look at a person on the waiting line for the scanner, and that person makes the hairs on your back stand up; that person needs a further search."
