I've shopped at Jensen's several times and have always found them to be good people. If you expect a "come to momma" hug from Marilyn when you walk in, you may just be in the wrong place.

Bob has great deals on some stuff and is average to high on others. Bob has a weird policy of charging $50 for the NFA paperwork even though he's selling his cans and SBRs at full boat MSRP. Most SOTs I've dealt with only charge a transfer fee if they're not selling you the product. Covering such expenses is what markup is for.

In any case, I'm glad that someone is doing the "Lord's work" selling black rifles and tactical gear in northern Colorado. How boring it would be if every gun store was just another Elmer Fudd emporium.

I have shopped at Jensens since I moved to Colorado 4 years ago.
I have purchased at least 15 firearms from them. I go to them when I buy new.

*They always have the best price and their inventory is excellent.

*Foul language is beyond acceptable even for a gun shop.

*Usually there is an unprofessional exchange going on between the owner and employees or between the employees. This was dramatically enhanced during the previous year when they were swamped by the election traffic.

*It seems to be getting better as their traffic eases but all of them seemed to be on overload and were complaining non stop about how busy they were - I don't need to hear that. If I owned my own shop that would be something to be happy about.

*They generally know a lot about their products but if they don't know what they are talking about they might make something up...I learned this after I did research about some info I received on two occasions.

I prefer to shop where people are genuinely friendly and care about who they sell to. I do not get the impression this is the case a Jensen's. Maybe long time customers get a different reaction since I am suprised to read so many positive things on this board. I also admit that I don't always know what I want when I walk into a store. If you know what you want, walk in, see it and buy it you will have a good experience.

UPDATE: 10/19/10 After 4 years of buying from Jensen's, I have noticed a marked change in attitude for the better since I wrote my last review. Maybe it is the 6 firearms I have bought this month, but I have noticed that the customer service and the overall demeanor in the shop has become more helpful and polite to everyone. I hope this continues because it is a welcome change and I buy a lot more from people I respect.

Yeah; nothing worse than going into a gun shop and hearing a heated discussion about chickens.

Chickens rarely have anything good to say.

I've been shopping at jensens for about 2 years now, their inventory is impressive some things are priced very nice some high but I'm used to everything being high at a dealer haha. No one there goes out of their way to be friendly (from my experience) but when I strike up small talk they're nice to deal with (again my experience) my advise is to do your homework and know what you want when you go in especially if buying com-block guns as they're knowledge of their own vz-58s and psls is limited. Anyway overall I recomend them to my friends

First visit to Jensen's last Saturday and I rate my experience as favorable. Will return again.

    Default Nice folks

Made my first visit to Jensen's today. probably a little diff than most days since the owners were at the SHOT show in LV. Spoke a lot to Jeff and Craig - both were really nice and very helpful. I was looking for a Ruger SR9c, a Mini-14, and an AR. I was really surprised when their SR9c price was just a couple bucks higher than Buds Guns/Cheaper than Dirt/Impact Guns. Many other arms were right on top of the best I found on the internet. I believe I will be visiting Jensens to make some purchases shortly - I think I just found my CO gunshop!

    Interesting responses in this thread.

I have been doing business with Jensen Arms since they had the small shop downtown. Not so much lately, as they are now 1.5 hours away. Which is better on my pocket book. I get there about once a year now.

I have dealt with most of the employees, except the owner (Bob?). They have always been friendly, professional and busy. I was in the shop last weekend and was given a gentle hint not to bother Bob(?).

That said, I will continue to do business with them. I have never been ignored, unlike The Gun Room or 5280 Armory.

I have shopped there from time to time. Sometimes they are friendly and willing to help, other times they are rude.

Last time my wife and I went in there which is really really rare for my wife to walk in with me.

We were walking out and she said, "Are they always that rude to customers?"

They have good deals and lots of stuff. Just not really good on the first impressions.

Was on a wait list at another shop for an incoming kimber but never got a call. I could not wait any longer so found the model at Jensen through gunbroker online. Chatted with staff while I waited for background check. Everyone nice and gave me some good advice about acessories. Was going to get my ar from them but got it locally instead.

    Will go back again.
