I couldn't finish it, after the great apps, incl. free jalapeno cornbread app w/ whipped honeybutter. Another app I love there is the Seasonal Artisinal Platter. Lots of fancy cheeses, sausage, nuts, olives, etc. Great for a group to try bunch of tasty different things. A little pricey though.

-- Mexican: Mexico City downtown, try the Fried Tacos, never seen them anywhere else. Santiago's breakfast burritos (various locations). Blue Bonnet (patio too), Broadway, just south of downtown. Benny's, near 8th & Grant, awesome chili rellenos (huge) w/ VERY hot green chili.
+1 For Chophouse, I love that place... But, I will raise you one- Kittredge has perhaps the best bang for your buck steakhouse, Black Hat Cattle Co. Their steaks are comparable to Chophouse and Elway's, but the prices aren't nearly as high.
As far as Mexican, my absolute, hands down favorite is Tafolino's Mexican Restaurant on Youngsfield and 20th (over near Applejack's Liquor in Lakewood- 32nd & Youngsfield exit, I-70). Seriously, this is food to write home about!

I'll add- Wings: Wing Wagon, Conifer, CO! Best hot wings you'll ever have (and the hottest)... Try the Suicide line, goes up to 20. For reference, BWW "Blazin'" are about Suicide 16 or so... The owner is awesome too, for a Patriots fan.

Be EXTREMELY careful when using a credit card to pay at Tafolinos. On 2 seperate occasions the wait staff purchased airline tickets to Mexico on customer's credit cards. Happened to 1 family member and one good friend. Pay with cash.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- Mongolian BBQ: BD's Mongolian Grill downtown Denver. Big buffet tables of fresh meats, veggies, toppings, sauces. You build your own bowl, then they stirfry it on a huge fry table.

-- Brats, incl. various game: Biker Jim's Bratwursts downtown, also has a cart that travels around. Try the Jalapeno Cheddar Elk Bratwurst, SICK! *drool*
BD's has got to be the best hands down Mongolian BBQ in the state. I have eaten at a few but nothing compares to these guy's.

Biker Jim has been a friend of mine for many years. He started out as a street vender on 16tth st mall and branched out to a full on shop. He has been voted the #1 hot dog stand in Denver many times over. I agree the Jalapeno Chedder braut is great but seriously try the pheasant braut!

As far as Pho goes me and my Co workers have tried several and even though they tend to have the sort of same style we all agree that only a few stand out. Pho 559 on Federal and Mississippi is great, Pho 79 on Havana and Mississippi and the Pho on Quebec and Illiff are the best.

I'll need to try those! I love a good steak, but not at "business traveler / tourist prices"!

Damn, haven't been in over a year, do the same two old ladies own it? Wonder if it's gone downhill. I know I never got their enchiladas, and I never let them put red sauce on it, prefer green chili.

Wow, NOTED. Wonder how many got away with it because people don't check their checking account in this day and age of Debit cards making everything too easy...

I'll have to try the Pheasant, was just too shy with game meats, heh. Yeah that's how we found Jim's, his cart on 16th St. Mall, then again on Saturday night at 1-2am after the bars, down off Wyncoop & 19th.

I'll stand by Pho 79 with you. We ate there almost every Tuesday night for almost a year and a half (Right after introducing the little woman to pho, which she LOVES, apparently).
Good Mongo BBQ is hard to find. I haven't tried BD's but will give it a shot. We don't get downtown much lately.

Freddy's just opened up in Loveland out on highway 34 and I'm anxious to try it. Those that have been there: What are some must-try-items?

Anybody else been to Rocky Mountain Chili Bowl (http://www.rockymountainchilibowl.com) at 35th and Quebec?? Good stuff, they make good green chili and haven't found anywhere else that does what they do.

I haven't been to BD's here in Colorado, but there are a few in Michigan like Portage Ann Arbor and Dearborn I have been to and really liked. I'll head downtown and check out the one here.

For pork brats I usually just hit up Bender's in Aurora. I used to live right at 6th and Chambers near their original location and went there when I had classes at CCA.
