ginse i think the problem is with people asking 100 for their stuff and then they think they want 200 but the real problem is finding the number within the post and then they just keep on typing and you really have a hard time trying to find anything because it is just one big massive run on sentence but every once in a while there is a period. i really find it amusing when they type shit out like that because i really try to lay my for sale ads out in a very clear and concise manner and always try to post pictures so everyone can see what they are getting plus pictures make any item sell better no matter what it is. having the price down at the bottom away from the main body of the text is nice so that people can see if you are asking 100 dollars and even a money symbol is nice to have so that people can at least locate the price in their mass confusion of words. I really hope my explanation solved everything and you feel better now

I don't know if it's just coincidence or related in some fashion, but I have also noticed, many of the people that don't post a clear price/location/pics, are the same people that ONLY use this forum to sell their stuff. They aren't active members, and i'm willing to bet, you could match their post count with postings in the wanted/for sale section.

There is a huge difference in postings of "active members" and "classified trolls". Active members, actually put some thought and take care in ensuring everybody gets a clear understanding of what they are selling, where they can meet, and how much they want. Whereas classified trolls, probably have the same posting on half a dozen other sites, and are just seeking as many views as possible.

I've watched the regulars and mods, be VERY patient with these folks, but patience only goes so far.

SO The more posts one has on this site, the better person they are? Ive noticed an attitude that expresses that belief. I dont post a ton. There are a few guys in here who post 40 to 50 times a day not to say anything worthy, just to get the count high enough to become acceptable.
The amount of posts matter little to me. I tend to judge people on what they have to say and how they approach others.
I can't help but wonder what the count has to be before your "acceptable" in CO-AR-15? 500? 1000? Sad.
Yeah! It's time to bash anyone who might try to sell something but not post a lot. Good thing eveyone in here gets along, acts civil to each other and all that trash.

I will say not at all. I give reminders to all. I myself do not have a large post count considering that I have been here 6-7 years. I value quality over quantity.

I have noticed that we do seem to have many new members where there 1st post is in the classified section and out of only 3-4 simple rules they are unable or unwilling to follow them.

    Just some thoughts.
I see you running, tell me what your running from

Nobody's coming, what ya do that was so wrong.

Who said anything about needing a certain number of posts to be "accepted"?

I have to say we should all thank the mods for how clean they keep it here. Sure no location/price/etc gets annoying but as far as spam and correcting our new members goes they keep co-ar15 in damn good shape.

Reddevil, the difference between you and the classified trolls is that you actually read through the forum. Don't be offended at the fact that sellers with low post count are high offenders, that's just the way it usually works out.

The classified trolls don't care about anything but volume, and only read the classified subforums. You can tell because they piggy back onto other people's for sale threads, and immediately jump in on WTB ads with a list of what they have (that often isn't really what the person is asking for).

I've been a member of other boards where a specific template was made to sell vehicles, then, if you don't fill out the template, your thread is deleted. That's a decent idea, but it is on the line of causing a rift between the staff and the posters. Most people hop on board just fine, but you'll never, ever, capture the classified trolls because they only post to sell and will never read any instructions or rants or anything.

EDIT: I'm largely in agreement with Zund. Post bad ads and people won't read them. I also like to window shop and read a good amount of for sale ads. There are a few posters who I've seen around enough that I just don't bother with their ads for various reasons. The worst guy actually doesn't post up ads here anymore after he burned some bridges with his bad attitude and couldn't sell his wares.

Red Devil is right. I'm not making this about how long a person has been a member, or how many posts they have (while the newest members tend to be the first offenders).

Heck, while it's really nice to have, I'm not even making this about having pics in the posts. If something catches my interest as a potential buyer and there are no pics, I will ask for them. If I get a response like (you can look for these online, there are plenty of pics out there", the seller obviously doesn't want me to see what HE/SHE is selling and I'm done with the thread. If the person either doesn't know how or have the capability to post a pic of their item, I'm actually okay with that. But, without pics of their item, if we agree on a meet to buy, don't be angry if I do not like the condition of YOUR item and walk away from the trade.

I just think that its easy enough to clearly post your location.
It's easy enough to clearly post your price(s).
And it's easy enough to post in a format that is easy to read.

If you really want to sell your wares, why wouldnt you try to make it easy on those potential buyers to read through your post and get the relevant info?

    Just sayin.
