Ahh, beer. It's an acquired taste. Some liquor store near my house in Indiana would let you mix and match a six pack, which would be ideal for you. I doubt they permit that here.
I doubt you'll find the first ones you try very appealing, it's a matter of trying many and finding out which types you enjoy. You might want to go to a microbrew pub near you and just try their sampler.
Otherwise, the best we can do is recommend some brews you might enjoy.
The one and only, Newcastle Brown Ale. My personal favorite.
Enjoy!

Happy Birthday.
Hmm. Guinness is a fantastic beer, but it's darker and more of an acquired taste. As a first beer purchase, if you can find it in Nebraska, I recommend Easy Street Wheat. It's light enough to not turn you off, but has enough flavor and body to be enjoyable.
If you can't find Easy Street up there, Samual Adams beers are always a good choice.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us to ‘Please Do Not Feed the Animals'. Their stated reason for the policy is because the animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves.
Blue Moon is really good. They have a couple seasonal variants that are really good too. Pumpkin Spice and a Winter one.
