As someone who's familiar with the internet, I'm surprised you have this opinion. How, exactly, could they stop the leak? Whoever sent it via anonymous sources to Wikileaks did it without knowledge or consent of the government, obviously. Once the data is released onto the internet, to a competent robust network like Wikileaks designed to handle and distribute data, there's no putting the genie back into the bottle.
