The motto is opposed for a variety of reasons.
I have consitutional objections to the latest motto, as I'm sure Pres. Obama does to. What in god's tarnation is the U.S. talking about? If it is any god of this forum, then I hope to god it is not one of mine!

On what constitutional grounds would that be? It's not establishment of a state religion. God means the same thing to people of various religions.

If Obama had the stupidity of saying "in god we trust' in a major muslim nation like Indonesia, it would probably have caused major riots, and major recruement sucesses for Al Qeada.

More proof Muslims are the religion of peace? You know, many Muslims (and others) believe God is God. Whether you're a Christian or a Muslim. So why would that offend them?

And I want to congraulate President Obama on him giving a excellent speech in Indonesia.
